Brad Pitt to star in new film titled 'The Operators'

It is no secret that Brad Pitt is one of Hollywood’s most powerful celebrities. As a result, when he wants to a movie made, it will be produced. Therefore, fans should not be surprised that Brad Pitt’s wish to produce a film based on General Stanley McChrystal's fall from grace is coming to fruition. This major announcement was reported in a Monday story by Variety.

The film is titled, “The Operators”, and it is being financed through Pitt’s production company, Plan B. Interestingly, the story also announced that the film has already settled on a director for the wartime political drama. David Michod is best known for directing “Animal Kingdom”, and he has been named to lead the production for the highly anticipated film.

Considering Brad Pitt’s intense interest to have this film produced, fans should not be surprised to that he will be playing a major role in the film. A Monday story by E! Online reveals that Pitt is cast to star as General McChrystal in the production.

The film is based off of the hit best seller “The Operators: The Wild and Terrifying Inside Story of America's War in Afghanistan”. This book detailed the political firestorm that ensued after General Stanley McChrystal gave a controversial interview to “Rolling Stone” where he questioned the effectiveness of President Obama’s plan.

It is not uncommon for celebrities to want to use their art form to express their political beliefs, and it will be interesting to see the vision that Michod and Pitt create. Regardless, it is highly likely that this film will receive critical success and be a major draw at the box office.
