Tonight Brad Pitt joined his fiance Angelina Jolie at the big opening of "Maleficent." This new movie should be a hit at the box office, but Brad was the one who got hit tonight. On Thursday, US Magazine shared the news that what was believed to be a random man ended up hitting Pitt on the red carpet. Of course that did not go over well at all and they are lucky a brawl didn't break out next.

The man jumped over the barrier to get to Pitt. Once he got to him, he was able to punch him one time in the face before anyone could break these two up. The kids were there with them at the premiere and so was his fiance but it is unknown if any of them were with him at the time of the punch.

One eye witness said that when Brad Pitt left the event he looked tense. He was helping his kids to get out of the door in safe manner, but this guy was already gone. TMZ shared that the man who hit Brad was taken into custody by the LAPD. He will be booked on a charge of misdemeanor battery.

TMZ was able to finally find out that it was actually an Ukranian reporter who punched him. His name is Vitalii Sediuk. This guy has made a name for himself for acting up on red carpets. You would think they would find a way to take away his press pass. Most people will remember him as the guy who tried to kiss Will Smith and that did not go over well at the time.

At this time, Brad Pitt is not speaking out about the punch to his face. There are no reports of how he looked after it happened but the premiere of Angelina's new movie did go on. "Maleficent" will hit theaters this weekend and is a must see movie.
