Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie will star together in 'By the Sea'

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are offering inspiration for couples who sometimes feel it's hard to rekindle the intensity of youthful romance at middle age. They will be giving the public an inside glimpse of this potential by costarring in a new romantic drama movie dealing with their true life romance. Pitt and Jolie will star in Universal's "By the Sea" reported The Hollywood Reporter on July 18, 2014. Jolie wrote this romantic drama and will direct the movie for Universal Pictures.

Universal Pictures has acquired all worldwide rights for this new film project. Donna Langley, chairman of Universal Pictures, announced on Friday that Jolie and Pitt will also produce the project. The last time the legendary couple appeared onscreen together was in "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" in 2005. Pitt and Jolie first met and fell into their storybook romance while making that movie.

At this time Jolie is in postproduction phases of "Unbroken." This is the true story of Olympian and war hero Louis Zamperini. "Unbroken" is adapted from author Laura Hillenbrand's best-selling novel. This movie will be released on Christmas day by Universal. Jolie has said she's very happy to continue her relationship with Donna and the entire Universal team as she finishes "Unbroken" and begins working on "By the Sea."

The theme of "By the Sea" focuses on the relationship between Pitt and Jolie reports Variety. Jolie feels the Universal team is perfect for this kind of project. She has shared that she sees Universal as having created a dynamic place for storytellers. Jolie is looking forward to the continued passion and support the Universal team has provided for her as a filmmaker.

The Los Angeles Times reports Universal has described "By the Sea" as an an intimate drama which is character driven. In 2011 Jolie had her directing debut with the Bosnian war drama "In the Land of Blood and Honey." Jolie and Pitt have been displaying their multidimensional talents over the years. News that they will be appearing together in a new movie which shares a dramatic inside view of their relationship together is really very exciting.
