The world has been waiting years for this moment. The high profile couple married in a quiet ceremony in France. The ceremony was attended by family and friends, but the press was not notified. According to USA Today the couple’s children took part in the ceremony. Shiloh, 8, and Knox, 6, served as ring bearers. While Viviane, 6, Zahara, 9, and Pax, 10 were the flower girls spreading petals down the aisle as they went. The oldest Maddox, 13 walked his mother down the aisle.

The wedding took place on Saturday. Earlier in the year Jolie told “Good Morning America”, "I think the important thing is that whenever we do it, that the kids do have a great time," she said. "And we all take seriously the love and the connection between all of us. But we also just get silly and do something memorable."

TMZ reported that the couple was married at Chateau Miraval, which they own. Pitt went right back to work after the wedding. He was spotted on the set Thursday wearing a wedding ring. The two originally said they wouldn’t get married until everyone else in the country could get married. While they may have jumped the gun a little, America is well on the way to marriage equality.
