Brad Pitt and Angelina have tied the knot, and the high profile couple did it under the radar. Brangelina married this past Saturday, Aug. 23, according to a report by the Associated Press on Thursday. A spokesperson for the couple confirmed the two movie stars married at their French estate, Chateau Miraval, in a private ceremony.
The longtime lovebirds – who are parents to Maddox, 13, Pax, 10, Zahara, 9, Shiloh, 8 and 6-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne – have been engaged for more than two years. And the wedding was definitely a family affair, with Zahara and Vivienne as flower girls, Shiloh and Knox as ring bearers, and the couple’s two older sons walking Jolie down the aisle
The wedding has been a long time coming, and while the ceremony was secret, plans have been in the works for a while. In 2012, Pitt reflected on their engagement and incessant pressure from their six kids to get married, saying, “It is something I want to do within their lifetime, but I also feel like the time has come. The time is nigh.” That same year, In Touch Weekly reported that a stylist for Jolie reportedly picked up wedding bands from famed jeweler Neil Lane.
Speaking of rings, on Thursday Pitt made a cameo wearing his. E! News posted photos of the 50-year-old actor at a “Fury” photo shoot at the Tank Museum in Bovington, Dorset wearing a simple gold band.
Earlier this year, Jolie told People that a wedding would come eventually, and added that their six kids were trying to help plan it. At the time she said they hadn’t “made any definite plans,” but said the kids had their own ideas about how it should go down.
“They will in a way be the wedding planners,” the Oscar winning actress said at the time. “It's going to be Disney or paintball - one or the other! We've got a lot of different personalities in the house. They've got some strong opinions. It will be fun. That's the important thing. When we do it, it will feel like a great day for our family.”
Looks like the managed to pull it off without a paparazzi pic in sight.
