The Minnesota Golden Gopher women's hockey team got a familiar piece of the WCHA's Players of the Week awards when it was announced that Megan Bozek and Maryanne Menefee were part of this week's class. The Gophers fell short of another clean sweep, as they had last week, but Jocelyne Lamoureux beat out the Gophers Bethany Brausen for Offensive Players of the Week.
Bozek had an historic weekend when she scored two goals and added one assist. The goals were important because those gave career goals 41 and 42, which surpassed Winny Brodt as the all-time goal scorer for defenseman. Her achievements also helped Minnesota sweep Ohio State and keep their winning streak alive. They are now 30-0 on the season and have 38th straight wins. It was Megan's second award this season.
Menefee has continued to pile up the points in a highly successful freshman season. The forward from Lansing, MI had one goal and two assists to help the Gophers sweep Ohio State. In 24 games this season she has 12 goals and 17 assists.
