A community is heartbroken and police are scrambling in Brunswick, Ga. after news that two boys shot and killed an infant as he was in his mother's arms Thursday. Sherry West tried to protect 13-month-old Antonio, but allegedly two young boys shot the infant after demanding money from the mother. The Inquisitr shared the details on March 22.
West suffered a gun shot to the leg in the incident as well, but her injuries are non-life threatening. The two suspects are described as being one young teen, between the ages of 13 and 15, and another young boy who may be as young as 10, both are apparently African American. After the boy shot and killed the infant the two suspects ran, and police unfortunately have no suspects at this time. Officials are currently checking school attendance records in the area to see if that produces any leads.
First Coast News shares that the shooting happened just a block away from Glynn Academy, and that school went on lockdown Thursday as police searched for the boys who shot and killed the infant. Despite saturating the area with officers, there have been no arrests made as of yet.
