By Paul Fitzgerald - H2 Systems Inc. and Supercars Canada Make the Drive for Charity an Annual Event
It may have been windy, a wee bit chilly and drizzly, but the first ever Boys and Their Toys Drive for Charity Fundraiser for Easter Seals warmed everyone up in so many ways.
The event, which took place this past Saturday (May 3) in Burlington, ON, attracted nearly 300 car enthusiasts and raised $10,000.00 for the leading foundation devoted to helping kids with physical disabilities succeed.
H2 Systems Inc. and Supercars Canada, both popular businesses in Burlington, were the organizers and hosts for the big event. The event was so successful and touched everyone’s hearts, and now both businesses today have proudly announced that they will make this an annual event.
This is community outreach at its best.
There were so many highlights from Saturday’s event that was held at H2 Systems Inc. headquarters at 3245 Harvester Road, Unit 4.
The best part was seeing the children from Easter Seals and the excitement on their eyes as they got to take a ride in an array of high-end cars: Ferrari 458 Italia, McLaren MP4-12C, Lamborghini LP560 Spyder, Aston martin Vantage Roadster, and Ferrari 430 Scuderia.
And of course it is was a proud moment for everyone as Clinton Howell, founder and owner of H2 Systems Inc., and Shaz Samji, founding member of Supercars Canada, presented the $10,000.00 cheque to Caroline Wallace, Senior Development Officer for Easter Seals Ontario, and Casey Mackay from Easter Seals Ontario.
There were a wide variety of notables who attended the event, including Mike Wallace, MP for Burlington.
Each guest soaked up the day in pure joy as they got to test-drive the wheels of their dreams for only $100.00. And each participant even had their picture taken with models from Fit Bunnies Fitness, based in Oakville, ON.
As well, everyone who attended had the change to tour the new expansion and launch of H2 Systems Inc. and its new Experience Centre, a first of its kind in Canada. Steinway Lyngdorf even shipped its new D Model Stereo system down for the event. These are arguably the best speakers in the entire world, valued at $250,000.00.
Both Howell and Samja are elated to be making a huge difference in the lives of others and are proud to make the Boy and Their Toys Drive for Charity and annual event.
Howell states, “Words just simply can’t describe with how good it felt to host this amazing event. It’s an honour to be giving back to children with physical disabilities. Kids just want to be kids we want to play our part to bring smiles to their faces.”
Samji says that the event will also get more local business and organizations involved in philanthropy.
“Word got out quickly on the success of our event and we are encouraging others to also play their part in being committed to community outreach. The Easter Seals is a foundation holds a special place in our heart and we are so pleased to be giving back to the community in which we live and work, and we know our efforts will have a positive impact for Easter Seals.”
Wallace states, “I am truly overwhelmed by the tremendous support we received for this first time event. My thanks goes to all drivers who came out and test drove the cars of their dreams all to assist Easter Seals Ontario in raising much needed funds for local physically disabled children.”
She adds, “My deepest gratitude goes to Clinton Howell, H2Systems Inc. and Shaz Samji, Supercars Canada for coming up with this unique fundraising idea. Both Clinton and Shaz are very community minded local Burlington businessmen and I can’t thank them enough for their generosity and the wonderful day they hosted. The $10,000.00 raised will allow Easter Seals kids an opportunity for a camp experience, mobility equipment or communication devices.”
