A young woman in San Francisco was doused with flammable liquid and set on fire by her boyfriend according to NBC News on Jan. 7. The woman is in the hospital with life-threatening burns.
Officers from the city’s Bayview District responded to reports of a woman screaming and found a woman in her 20s badly burned. The woman’s identity has not been released by police and her boyfriend is the alleged attacker.
Precious Craig, sister of the victim told KGO-TV that most of the victim’s face is burnt. Some of the victim’s hair remains but “most of her face is burned.”
After being set ablaze, the woman was able to get her clothing off and put the fire out by herself. Police described her injuries as serious.
Her attacker, 22-year-old Dexter Oliver, is being sought in connection with the attack. He is wanted on suspicion of attempted murder and arson. Police do not at this time have a motive for the attack.
