Boyfriend charged with murdering Englewood woman and 5-year-old daughter

Michael Brady, 34, allegedly stabbed his girlfriend before suffocating her five-year-old daughter. Prosecutors say this New Jersey man killed the little girl because she witnessed the death of her mother.

Brady was “charged Wednesday with murder, hindering apprehension and weapons charges.”

He was brought into custody one day after the bodies of Tam Marie Pitts-Gaddy and her daughter, Natasia Gaddy, were discovered in their apartment in Englewood.

According to Bergen County Prosecutor John Molinelli, Brady dated Pitts-Gaddy for the last three years. They also lived together periodically throughout their relationship.

Molinelli said the murders happened after the couple had a fierce argument.

“Brady was being held Wednesday on $2 million bail. It's not known if he has a lawyer.”
