The accolades keep rolling in for the University of Minnesota, as the Big Ten announced Tuesday that Travis Boyd and Adam Wilcox were named the league’s First Star and Third Star of the week.
Boyd led all Big Ten players with four points in Minnesota’s weekend sweep of Penn State including being a factor in both goals during Saturday’s 2-1 win at Mariucci Arena in Minneapolis.
Adam Wilcox earned his twenty-first win of the season in Friday’s 5-1 dismantling of Penn State where he made thirty saves. He ranks third nationally in wins with twenty-one, sixth nationally in save percentage (.932) and seventh nationally in goals against average (1.94). He’s also lost only twice in his last nineteen starts as well.
The Gophers are in action on Friday and Saturday this week as they travel to Columbus to take on the Ohio State University Buckeyes. Friday’s game at 6:30pm CT will be televised by FOX Sports North PLUS while ESPNNews has the series finale at 5:30pm CT on Saturday.
