"Girl Meets World," the long awaited spin-off of "Boy Meets World" is forging ahead in plans for filming. Monday night it was announced that Rowen Blanchard will be the onscreen daughter of Cory and Topanga who are returning for the spin-off series "Girl Meets World." 11-year-old Rowen Blanchard will play the part of 13-year-old Riley Matthews, according to Monday night's exclusive report by EW.
The slideshow above will give you a little background into this vivacious young lady's acting and her singing abilities are reflected in four YouTube videos. Clearly you can see that Rowan loves to perform. Rowan has a catchy enthusiastic grin and lights up the room with her smile. Rowan is best known for her recent role in "Spy Kids: All the Time in World in 4D."
The producer, Michael Jacobs said:“As soon as Rowan walked into the room, I was reminded of why Ben Savage was loved as Cory Matthews. Rowan is real and accessible and I am hopeful this girl is about to meet a world that will love growing up with her as well.” And, with those words we think that Jacobs hit the nail on the head for what made audiences identify withe Cory and Topanga. We all rooted for the young love to thrive in this series.
"Boy Meets World," was an extremely popular sitcom that ran from 1993-2000. Children of the '90s and their parents will be thrilled to see the couple return to television. Danielle Fishel’s character Topanga provided a clean role model, for young girls during the ‘90s.
It is hoped that "Girl Meets World" will provide a healthy role model for young girls today, as the next phase of life for Topanga and Corey forge ahead in a relatively young marriage.
