Singer Boy George showed off his stunning weight loss on Twitter Feb. 17, and credited portion control and a low-carb diet for his amazing body transformation.
When asked by a fan what his weight-loss secret was, Boy George tweeted, "Portion control. Five-hour gaps between meals. No coffee or tea, except at meals. Water and fizzy water between meals! No bread, sugar!"
At 51, the British singer, whose real name is George O'Dowd, is slimmer and healthier-looking than ever, thanks to the dietary overhaul. While the 6-foot-tall George didn't reveal exactly how much weight he lost, he appears to have shed at least 50 pounds based on photo comparisons.
Boy George, who follows a vegan diet, frequently tweet photos of the healthy, delicious dishes he prepares, such as a spicy broccoli cheese and cannelloni bean and vegetable curry.
George also credited dietician Amelia Freer's nutrition plan for his dramatic transformation. On her blog, Freer shares vegetarian recipes and advocates consuming green juices and limiting processed foods. "Eating fat does not make you fat," she writes. "Stop all the fat-free and diet products — they ARE making you fat."
