Boxing prodigy Jose Benavidez defeats Prince Doku

Top Rank Boxing prodigy, Jose Benavidez (19-0, 14 KOs) kept his undefeated record alive with a solid win over Prince Doku (18-5, 12 KOs) of Ghana, last Saturday night at the Texas Station Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

Benavidez, a welterweight with skills-a-plenty, had no trouble in his win over Doku. The young prodigy displayed good movement, and delivered some hard well placed shots on Doku, setting the tone early for this fight and never looking back.

At the end of the scheduled six round bout, all the judges scored the fight 60-54 in favor of Benavidez for the unanimous decision win.

For Doku, it was his second loss in a row after suffering a first round knockout to Frankie Gomez late last year. However, the young hopeful does show promise and will fight another day.

Benavidez continues his quest for a shot a championship title, he has proven himself in the ring and deserves a shot.
