Boxers Salido and Benavidez brothers to host blanket drive for Andre House

WBO Featherweight Champion Orlando Salido, prospects Jose Benavidez, Jr. and his brother David Benavidez will host a Blanket Drive/Meet and Greet to benefit Andre House. The event will be held at Karla's Kitchen this Saturday, Dec. 21, from 12-2 p.m. in Phoenix.

Andre House, dedicated to assisting Phoenix's homeless serves over 600 meals per night. In addition, Andre House provides laundry services, clothing, showers and transitional housing to any homeless person.

Boxing fans will have the opportunity to snag an autograph and photo with the fighters, just bring a blanket for donation.

Salido defeated Orlando Cruz in commanding fashion on Oct. 12, winning the WBO Featherweight Title in the process. A veteran fighter, Salido has faced some of the best fighters in the world. His exciting style of fighting always has the crowd on it's feet.

Jose Benavidez, Jr., one of Top Rank's hottest prospects, has remained undefeated as a pro. With extreme speed and power, he is destined to be a world champion.

David Benavidez recently won his pro debut and will surely change the boxing landscape in the coming years. Like his brother Jose, David has sparred and trained with some of the best fighters in the world.

The Phoenix community and boxing fans are encouraged to bring new and gently used blankets to support Andre House, and it's quest to make a difference for the Valley's homeless.
