Boxer Spence moves on to Olympic Trials Finals

Mobile, ALA - DeSoto's Errol Spence defeated Amir Imam earlier tonight, 19-12, to move on to the U.S. Olympic Boxing Finals Friday night in Mobile against an opponent to be named.

Spence, who fights out of the Maple Avenue Boxing Gym in Dallas under trainer Derrick James, is the only undefeated fighter left in the double elimination tournament in the 152 pound welterweight division.

A win Friday and a top 10 finish in his next tournament would give Spence his dream of being the finalist to go to the 2012 London Olympic Games representing the USA.
