The 2013 NCAA football live stream and TV games for week 15 feature teams vying for conference championships or BCS Bowl games. Among them on Friday night will be the Northern Illinois Huskies, currently ranked No.14, with a perfect record in the MAC and overall. They’ll look to become the second straight team to “bust the BCS,” but standing in there way is a Bowling Green team which will look to get the upset win. Tonight’s televised and live stream NCAA football game is presented through the ESPN networks for sports fans.
As ESPN.com reported on Dec. 6, tonight’s game gives Northern Illinois the chance to win their third straight conference title. They also will look to try to earn a BCS Bowl bid, after becoming the first MAC school to do so back in 2012. A victory over the Bowling Green Eagles on Friday night will get them even closer to that goal. Right now, only two other undefeated teams exist in the FBS: Florida State and Ohio State, which many analysts figure will be playing for the BCS Championship, barring any upsets on Saturday.
NIU coach Rod Carey said of his team’s first and foremost focus:
"The only thing we can control is the MAC championship. That's the game we qualified for. There's only one thing, one game we have guaranteed, and that's the MAC championship.
It's going to be a really good challenge for us, but we're looking forward to the challenge."
Coming into this game, Bowling Green has been stingy in terms of defense, allowing opponents just 13.8 points per game. Northern Illinois enters with a scoring average of 42.8 points per game. The Eagles’ sole loss in conference this season has been 28-25 to Toledo, with other losses coming at Indiana and at Mississippi State. Since then, they’ve won four straight to make it to this particular matchup with the Huskies.
Northern Illinois has defeated several Big Ten opponents including Iowa and Purdue this past season, with other wins against teams like Kent State, Akron and Ball State as part of their twelve wins. They’ll look to close out the undefeated regular season with a big win on Friday night, with Jordan Lynch looking to add to his already impressive quarterback stats in terms of both passing and rushing. As a team, Northern Illinois is fourth in the nation in rushing with 318.9 yards a game, and 9th in points scored per game. So this game is going to come down to whether Northern Illinois’ offense or Bowling Green’s top defense can win the battle.
Odds makers listed the Northern Illinois Huskies as 3 point favorites ahead of this game when the line first opened. Since then it’s risen to four points in their favor at many sports books. The over/under points total is set at 58 1/2 at various books. Tonight’s game will be played at Ford Field in Detroit, Mich., so weather won’t be a factor under the dome.
Friday's Bowling Green vs. Northern Illinois college football game has a scheduled start time of 8 p.m. EST. In addition, this game is set to live stream online through ESPN's broadband sports network, WatchESPN.
