Bowling Green, Ohio's WinterFest has seasonal fun for all

Lots and lots of fun, family-friendly winter activities are in store for those Clevelanders willing to venture to Bowling Green, Ohio to attend the college town's annual WinterFest on Friday, February 14 through Sunday, February 16. It is approximately a 2 hour drive from Cleveland to Bowling Green.

Bowling Green WinterFest Taking place at various venues in downtown Bowling Green, WinterFest is offering more than 30 events for visitors to enjoy that should appeal to all ages. Free activities include public ice skating each day, horse-drawn carriage rides, public curling, ice sculptures, a Penguin Party, a community movie and Kids' Snow Games (on Saturday from 12:30 p.m. - 2 p.m. at City Park). There will also be plenty of live musical entertainment.

Sports enthusiasts will enjoy the Teen Dodgeball Tournament on Saturday and don't miss the Frostbite (one mile) Fun Run.

New this year is the "Snowflakes on Display" winter-themed artwork displays shown in downtown businesses,window fronts and on the BGSU campus all through February.

One of the high points of the Festival each year is the big Chili & Soup Cook-Off being held from noon - 2 p.m. at the Veteran's Building at City Park on Saturday.

Hours for the WinterFest are 4 p.m. - 10 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m. - 10 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Admission is free.
