The fourth annual “Bowling for Bunnies” will be held on Sunday, March 10 from Noon to 3 p.m. at Marietta Lanes (565 Cobb Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060). This event is a fundraiser for the Georgia House Rabbit Society (GHRS) bringing together fans of bowling, lovers of bunny rabbits and GHRS volunteers for an afternoon filled with fun and friendly competition.
The cost to participate is $12 in advance or $15 at the door on the day of the event. Included in the price is shoe rental and three games of bowling. Each participant will also receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win one of the many fun door prizes. Additional raffle tickets can be purchased at the event for more chances to win. Advanced tickets can be purchased at The Rabbit Center (the GHRS rabbit shelter) located at 2280 Shallowford Lane in Marietta.
GHRS will have some of their adorable bunnies available for adoption at this event.
All proceeds from the event go towards the upkeep of the GHRS rabbit shelter in Marietta and the care of their rescued rabbits.
About the Georgia House Rabbit Society (from their Facebook page)
The mission of GHRS is “[t]o rescue abused, abandoned and neglected domestic house rabbits. We spay and neuter, foster and find them great homes. We educate the public on the proper care of domestic house rabbits.”
GHRS is “an all-volunteer, non-profit organization with two primary goals: to rescue abandoned rabbits whose time is up at animal shelters and to find permanent homes for them, and to educate the public and assist humane societies, through publications on rabbit care, phone consultations and classes. In 2008, National House Rabbit Society celebrated 20 years, 20,000 rabbits saved.”
