Bowling, food, and entertainment at Bass Pro Shop in Altoona

When you think of good food and fun times, Bass Pro Shop probably doesn’t come to mind. Believe it or not, though, there are plenty of hidden adventures in this popular outdoorsman shop in Altoona.

Uncle Buck’s Fishbowl and Grill features “under the sea” themed dining, with a small bowling alley, bar, and pool room, offering entertainment for both kids and adults. Prices for meals and entrées are comparable to family-style restaurants.

Once you’re finished with dinner and a frame or two, head on over to the adjoined Bass Pro Shop for additional family entertainment and shopping.  In addition the extensive rows of merchandise for any outdoor enthusiast, you’ll also find a mock shooting gallery, waterfall into a large tank of fish, and outdoor décor around every corner.

According to their website, “Bass Pro Shops stores are also part museum, art gallery, antique store, aquarium, education, conservation and entertainment center”. You can easily find yourself spending hours here, without breaking the bank. That’s what makes the Bass Pro Shop extraordinary - it’s not just a shop, it’s a learning opportunity, shopping excursion, and play center all rolled into one.

If you’re interested in an extra treat, be sure to visit the large aquarium at 3 p.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays for the fish feeding.
