Shooting a fish with bow is gaining so much popularity, especially in Illinois. The Illinois River has reluctantly become home to 'flying' Asian carp when these voracious species escaped into our river system when the Mississippi River suffered a major flood. The schools of Asian carp gets agitated from nearby boat motors, and literally jump out of the water; and the sport of Extreme Aerial Bowfishing was born. Of course, the non-jumping common carp is also a taken by bow (pictured).
The Bowfishing Association of Illinois has a website full of education, regulations and how-to's for anyone interested in learning how to 'bowfish'. The organization also lists on their website bowfishing locations, tournaments, and recipes.
