The cast web of superstars grows for the sequel to “The Amazing spider-Man”. “The Town” actor Chris Cooper joins the ensemble – according to The Hollywood Reporter - that already consists of two other Oscars winner and nominee in the web-slinger's villain canon, respectively: Jamie Foxx and Paul Giamatti.
Cooper will reunite with “The Kingdom” co-star Foxx as both take on comic book perennials in film. Foxx already signed on to portray the villain Electro, while Cooper has been tapped to play Norman Osborn. The part of Norman Osborn is a reboot succession with Willem Dafoe having the role previously in “Spider-Man”.
Opposite the franchise returning leads of Andrew Garfield ("The Social Network") as Peter Parker/Spider-Man and Emma Stone ("The Help") as Gwen Stacy, the “Seabiscuit” starring actor joins the superhero movie re-introducing a live-action adaptation of Mary Jane Watson. That role will be under portrayal by Shailene Woodley (“The Secret Life of an American Teenager”). Giamatti ("Sideways") has the part of the web-slinger’s criminal adversary the Rhino.
The role of Norman Osborn is now synonymous on the silver screen, in synch with the comic books, being one of the wall-crawler’s most heavyweight calber of foes. With Electro due to oppose Spider-Man in this sequel, and the Rhino to boot there’s not yet been a confirmation when Osborn will come to be the Green Goblin in this Marc Webb directorial part two movie.
