The Tonawanda Restaurant Examiner and her companion were lucky enough to be invited to the first all you can eat buffet at Boulevard BBQ on New Year's Eve. We were awed by the high quality of the food, as well as the afforability of the buffet.
Boulevard BBQ will host a monthly all you can eat buffet beginning on Saturday February 5, 2011 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. The cost of the buffet is $16 for adults, $8 for children under 12. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 553-5315 or 695-8888 during regular business hours. You can check out their Facebook Fan Page and click on the Events tab for more details.
On the menu for the all you can eat bbq buffet is: bbq pulled pork, brisket, chicken, sausage, ribs, pork chops, corn bread, baked beans, coleslaw and mac and cheese.
The Boulevard BBQ's ribs are in a word, incredible. There isn't anywhere else in Western New York that makes them as good as they do at Boulevard BBQ. They are a little sweet, a little spicy and they are fall off the bone tender. They don't skimp at this buffet, you can help yourself to as much as you like, and the Tonawanda Restaurant Examiner ate at least half a rack of ribs by herself. The brisket is also tender and mouthwatering, served with Boulevard BBQ's signature sauce on the side so you can add as much or as little as you like. The rotisserie chicken was also fall of the bone delicious, seasoned to perfection. The chicken is served with the sauce on the side, too.
The Tonawanda Restaurant Examiner's companion couldn't say enough good things about the BBQ's buffet, and we immensily enjoyed the coleslaw, which is tossed with a vinegar-based dressing and raisins (different and delicious!), the corn bread was served as individually wrapped loaves smothered in butter, and the mac and cheese has a wonderful, cheesy, crispy, crunchy baked topping. The baked beans, a secret recipe of the Smokin' Eagles, are the best baked beans the Tonawanda Restaurant Examiner has ever tasted. Simply made, a little sweet, a little spicy, a little smoky, they're unencumbered by fancy additions such as onions or bacon. They stand alone with their incredible flavor and goodness. They are cooked perfectly, and are soft and absorbed the flavor of the sauce, not hard and crunchy like some baked beans.
