Boulder Tossed at Bigfoot Researchers

The Mogollon Monster received its name from the Boy Scouts of America at Camp Geronimo.  However, the Mogollon Monster is another name for Bigfoot much like Sasquatch (Washington, Oregon, Canada, Alaska), Hairy Man (Apache ), Grass Man (Ohio),  Yeti (Tibet), and Yowie (Australia).  Most of the sightings of Bigfoot in Arizona happen along the Mogollon Rim which runs from Flagstaff to the New Mexico border.

On 19 May, 2009, two Bigfoot Researchers, Mitch Waite and Shannon Waite, traveled into the Bigfoot Hot Zone of the Mogollon Rim to hang six motion sensing game cameras in their search for the Mogollon Monster.  As they went about their business, they soon learned they were not alone.  Their first indication was a trail of footprints.  These footprints looked much like human barefoot prints.  Toes were visible allowing them to determine the direction of travel.

Shannon was able to photograph the foot prints and to determine the size by placing his size eleven foot next to a print.  It appears to be at least twice the size of his foot which makes it about 18 inches in length.

The researchers followed the trail, but eventually lost the tracks in a very thick stand of trees.   After a while, the two went back to hanging cameras.  A couple of the cameras were aimed at the trail for surveillance incase the Bigfoot decided to use the trail once again.

After finishing the last camera installation, the two researchers climbed the hill to be able to overlook the area they had just covered.  While resting, they heard a huge crash in the trees below.  Mitch reported the sound to be on the magnitude of a car hitting a tree.  Curiosity got the best of them and they decided to investigate.

Following the trail back, they came across a huge boulder sitting in the middle of the trail.  There were no other rocks or boulders in the area.  The boulder had not been sitting there for very long. The grass and leaves were an indication of that.  How did the boulder get there?  It was too large for a human to carry easily.  Was it tossed against a tree to express displeasure for the two researchers being in the area?

This area soon became known as the Hot Zone.  Many strange things started happening in this area each time researchers visited the site.
