Boulder's Upstart Crow Theater Presents: Ring Round the Moon by Jean Anouilh
This is a tale of people with too much money.
Hugo and Frederic are identical twins, as alike as night and day. One is bold and ruthless, the other meek and sensitive. Hugo plots to prevent his brother's marriage to a woman who despises him. His tool is a Pygmalion style transformation of a poor, beautiful ballet dancer. The setting for his scheme is a grand ball at a French Château between the wars. But Hugo's little dancer has a mind of her own and her mother (a few cards short of a deck) also has her own plans for the evening.
Christopher Fry's adaptation of Jean Anouilh's L'Invitation au Château is fast paced and witty. If you can sit through this play without laughing you need to have your funny bone examined.

NCAR Gallery Features Photography by Britt Ripley
An exhibition of photography titled “Rawhide, Steel & Bone: images of western ranching culture” by Britt Ripley is on display in Gallery I of the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) May 3 - 29. The artist is inspired by this colorful but fading way of life. On ranches, he sees a vivid interplay of history, people, setting, weather, architecture, creatures, old and new, machinery and tools, and a vast collection of materials. This provides canvases rich in aesthetic possibility including boldness, subtlety, wonderful texture, and the duality of life and death. The artist hopes to infuse his images with emotion and capture the beauty found in this culture.

CCCT Presents "Angel Street"
Coal Creek Community Theater Presents “Angel Street” by Patrick Hamilton
Directed by Dan Schock, "Angel Street" will have its last run tonight at the Louisville Center for the Arts. This suspenseful drama tells the story of the Manninghams who live on Angel St. in the 19th Century. When the curtain rises, Mr. Manningham is slowly torturing his wife, Bella, into insanity under the guise of kindness. While he is out, Mrs. Manningham is visited by Inspector Rough from Scotland Yard. Rough is convinced that Manningham is a maniacal criminal wanted for a murder committed fifteen years earlier in this very house. Gradually, Rough restores Mrs. Manningham's confidence and they build up evidence against Manningham.
