Since you probably already have your red, white, and blue on the ready due to our Independence Day, you may as well keep it handy for Bastille Day. That’s right food-lovers and Francophiles, Bouchon Bistro, the French restaurant located smack-dab in the middle of Yountville, California, is hosting its 14th annual celebration of the French National Day. Be you local or blow-in, the tasty French food and fun festivities taking place at 6534 Washington Street on July 13 from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. should be a hit for the whole family.
“Bastille Day has been a long-standing tradition at Bouchon for our local community in Yountville,” said Thomas Keller, Chef and Proprietor, Thomas Keller Restaurant Group. “Each year we are happy to see our attendance grow, and this year we’ve expanded the celebration into the Edward James Courtyard and surrounding parking lot to better accommodate the crowds. The popularity of this event simply allows us to further the celebration of France and French traditions in America. That is what Bouchon is all about.”
If such French classics as Tarte Flambé and whole-roasted Cochon (aka piggy) tickle your fancy, then this is the celebration for you. Additionally, Merguez sausage, Choucroute Garni (a kind of French sauerkraut), crepes, and selection of East Coast and West Coast oysters will be served. Favorite snacks, including truffle popcorn, macarons, beignets and Bouchon brownies, will also be available. Wines from France along with classic French cocktails and beer will also be featured. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Yountville Elementary School.
Bastille Day festivities will happen on Sunday, July 13 from 12:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Bouchon Bistro and Bouchon Bakery locations will observe regular business hours on Sunday, July 13 and Monday, July 14.
