Mystery Readers International (MRI) founder Janet A. Rudolph presented the Macavity Awards at Bouchercon on October 14, 2010. The Macavity Awards, selected by MRI members, have been issued since 1987 and take their name from T.S. Eliot's poem, "Macavity the Mystery Cat."

- Best Mystery Novel: Ken Bruen and Reed Farrel Coleman won for Tower (Busted Flush Press). Tower was also an Anthony Award nominee for Best Paperback Original .
- Best First Mystery Novel: Alan Bradley won for The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie (Flavia de Luce series #1: Delacorte). The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie also won the 2010 Barry Award for Best First Novel, the Dilys Award from the 2010 Left Coast Crime Conference and the Spotted Owl Award from the Friends of Mystery.
- Best Mystery Nonfiction: P.D. James won for Talking about Detective Fiction (Alfred A. Knopf). Talking About Detective Fiction also won the 2010 Anthony Award for Best Critical Non-Fiction
- Best Mystery Short Story: Hank Phillippi Ryan won for "On the House," which appeared in Quarry: Crime Stories by New England Writers (Level Best Books). “On the House” also won the 2010 Anthony Award for Best Short Story and the 2010 Agatha Award for Best Short Story.
- Sue Feder Historical Mystery Award: Rebecca Cantrell won for A Trace of Smoke (Hannah Vogel mystery series: Forge). A Trace of Smoke also won the Bruce Alexander Memorial Mystery Award at the 2010 Left Coast Crime Conference.
