Roseville aesthetician provides Botox treatments
Maybe you have a friend who looks younger than her real age. You ask her what she is doing and she tells you she is seeing an RN for Botox injections. Here’s how Botox can work for you.
You come in for a consult. You and the RN go over all their possible contraindications. She will make sure you have not been on any aspirin or fish oil. They could make injections bleed excessively. Cheaper providers with less education probably do not know that or do not have time to ask.
You and the RN will discuss your desires. What do you want to get rid of?
- The little frown line between the brows?
- Forehead lines?
- The little crow’s feet?
You can get numbing cream so the injections won’t be so scary. Your RN will ice the treatment areas to decrease the risk of bleeding and bruising. She makes tiny little injections with the smallest needle made. It’s a 30-gauge little needle.
It’s just a few little pricks. An experienced RN usually does:
- Five injections between the brows
- Two or three injections around the eyes, or
- Eight injections on the forehead.
This depends on what areas you want to treat. Your RN can do all areas on one visit, if you choose that plan.
What you can expect during the first seven days after a Botox treatment
You will have a little bit of discomfort during a Botox treatment. You may get tiny, little bumps. They’re like little bee stings. Who out there has never been stung by a bee? The bumps will dissipate. You won’t notice anything drastic over the first few days.
- Within the first three days, the Botox will slowly decrease your movement.
- Between days seven and ten, you will receive the complete effect.
- If you need a little touch-up after 10 days, which would be the time to come back for a touch-up session.
People who get migraines say Botox decreases their headaches because they’re not able to furrow their forehead and make those expressions. The opposite sometimes happens. There are some potential side effects. For a few people, Botox can cause headaches. Lori will discuss potential side effects during your consultation.
