The Low Country Winter Coin Show is this weekend, Feb. 14-16, 2014 in a different building at the Exchange Park Fairgrounds than they used last year. This year it will be in the Arts and Crafts Building, not the main building. There will be plenty of free parking. The times are Feb. 14 (Friday) 1 PM – 6 PM; Feb. 15 (Saturday) 9 AM – 6 PM; and Feb. 16 (Sunday) 10 AM – 3 PM. There is no admission charge, however, you must have a picture ID.
This event is sponsored by the Lowcountry Coin Club. Their website is www.lowcountrycoinclub.com. You can expect at least 35 dealers there and about 45 tables of exhibits. Anyone can buy, sell, trade or get appraisals. This always proves to be a popular event. Young people are encouraged to attend to develop an appreciation for these antique things. Frequently other antiques are available at this show.
Mike Kent’s Knife and Gun Show will be held at the same location, just a different building, so antique shoppers will have two events at the same location in Ladson, SC. Ladson is next to North Charleston and not far from Charleston Southern University. Mike Kent’s show does sell antique guns, knives, military things, as well as contemporary things. He has room for about 320 tables for dealers. His dates are Feb. 15 (Saturday) 9 AM -5 PM and Feb. 16 (Sunday) 10 AM – 4 PM. The admission fee is $8.00 for adults and children under 12 are free.
Both of these shows will be held on the same two days, Saturday and Sunday, so antique shoppers can see both shows on these two days. It does take a while to see everything. Photographs of previous shows can be seen on www.ClydeAntique.com, the website on antique shopping in Charleston, SC. The exact location is: Exchange Park Fairgrounds, 9850 Hwy 78, Ladson, SC, 29456.
