The Boston Wine Expo takes place in mid-February, the 15-16th this year, at the Seaport World Trade Center with an array of opportunities for everyone from those seeking to learn more about vino to experienced afficiandos.

Wine lovers with expertise and knowledge will seek out the Vintners Reserve Lounge with rare and expensive vintages. It's heaven in a bottle for those seeking to sample the créme de la créme of what's on the market today.

Chef demonstrations this year include a very large group of leading culinary figures from the Boston area including such names as Barbara Lynch, Jody Adams, Daniel Bruce, Michael Leviton, Michael Schlow, Mark Allen, Brian Poe, Josh Ziskin, Brian Poe and others. Learn cooking secrets, get recipes, sample paired wines and more.

First timers will be dazzled by the array of opportunities with 185 wineries represented this year at the Grand Tasting. We'd suggest picking a country or two and visiting all the attending wineries representing them. Taste, explore, network with the winery representatives and ask questions. Keeping it simple is the best way to ease into a complex and exciting world of wines. The array of possibilities ranges from the classic French growing regions, Italy, Portugal, and the U.S. from the Finger Lakes to Napa Valley, to countries such as South Africa and Chile which have been making a major mark on the world stage in recent years with wines that "over deliver" in the price/value relationship.

It doesn't matter where you begin - pick up your glass and step into a world of flavor and excitement.
