Forecast discussion: I hope all of my readers and viewers had a Happy Easter on Sunday. In eastern Massachusetts, it was a rather cool day for the kids to find Easter eggs around the yard. Logan Airport only reached a high of 47 degrees. As we go into Patriot’s Day, the weather will be much warmer, especially in the afternoon.

The reason for the warm-up is due to the wind shift during the morning. Winds will begin to turn to the south-southeast, which is a slightly warmer wind. Add the bright April sunshine and high temperatures will rise into the lower 60’s. It will be great weather for the Boston Marathon on Monday. For more information on the marathon, or to get information to live stream the event, I will take you to an official web site by clicking here. Also, temperatures will be in the upper 50’s as the Red Sox play in the annual morning game.

We will begin to see some increasing clouds Monday night, as a cold front now in the Great Lakes will slowly move into New England on Tuesday. We will see some showers by the late afternoon, and may see periods of moderate rain Tuesday night into early Wednesday morning. The precipitation will end by the morning commute, with some partial sunshine by the afternoon.

As we go into Thursday, a new high pressure system will bring nice weather for Thursday and Friday.
As we enter the weekend, the computer models continue to show a weak cold front passing through the region Saturday afternoon. Right now, the models are not showing a lot of precipitation. So, I will keep the chance for some passing showers through the day. The cold front will pass to our east, but an upper level low will remain stationary over New England. This will help develop a surface low, which may bring scattered showers back over the region. The precipitation will form on the back side of the low, rotating the showers back over the capital city.
