Metro Boston, North Shore and western suburbs: After a day of considerable cloudiness skies rapidly cleared out last evening and with a light wind and clear skies temperatures tumbled back into the 40s to low 50s in the area.
The upper level disturbance that brought the instability and clouds yesterday is rotating through the Canadian Maritimes today and as a result we can expect a sunny Sunday. With high pressure shifting offshore winds turn more west to southwest and this will bring us slightly milder temperatures and continued dry conditions. There is a slight chance of a sea breeze along the immediate coast. Tonight, ahead of an approaching cold front, clouds will be on the increase with temperatures generally remaining in the 50s.
The front is expected to cross through here around midday or early Monday afternoon and with it a few scattered showers are possible. Overall, skies will be generally mostly cloudy and temperatures a few degrees cooler from those of today. A partly cloudy and cooler night follows Monday night with a return to Autumn like temperatures Tuesday under a mostly sunny sky.
For that matter the remainder of the work week should remain dry as a large dome of high pressure will be in control. Cooler than normal temperatures Tuesday and Wednesday will moderate back to seasonal for both Thursday and Friday. Late in the week a warm front approaches and this will throw more clouds at us by later Friday with a chance of showers at night.
