Forecast discussion: Boston received a few isolated showers very early Thursday morning, thanks in part to a cold front which was passing to our south. As the day wore on, skies began to clear, and the humidity was lowering. This trend will continue this evening, as temperatures will reach the upper 50’s to near 60 degrees.
As we go through the weekend, a high pressure system over Canada will keep a very strong ridge over Southern New England. This ridge will continue to give us nothing but mostly sunny skies and comfortable temperatures right into Monday. We will begin to see more moisture move towards New England on Tuesday, as a weak cold front slowly brings showers towards the area.
At this time, the computer models agree that the ridge will begin to break down, and we have the chance to see our first rainfall by late Wednesday night. The front will slowly push through the area on Thursday, giving us the risk of showers and thunderstorms. Our high temperatures will slowly climb into the lower 80’s by next Wednesday, which will be slightly above normal for the last full week in June.
