Forecast discussion: Saturday started off with bright sunshine in the morning, but eventually a weak disturbance brought increasing clouds. Now, Boston could see some scattered showers and thunderstorms before dawn. There is a small line of heavy rain passing through central and eastern Connecticut at the moment. All precipitation will end before dawn, as the disturbance moves offshore.

For Sunday, a weak high pressure ridge will give us mostly sunny skies during the morning, but any sunshine will help bring daytime heating. An occluded front will help trigger some showers and thunderstorms by the middle of the afternoon. Although the probability is quite low, some thunderstorms may be accompanied with lightning and small hail. After midnight, the front will move offshore and high pressure behind the front will help clear skies before dawn Monday morning.

The high will give us dry weather and seasonable temperatures into Thursday morning. A slow moving warm front will bring scattered showers by the afternoon, and continue into Friday. It appears by the American and European models that the cold front will remain near the eastern coastline. So, we will continue to see wet weather right into next Saturday.
