Forecast discussion: A high pressure system over the state of New York helped to give a nice start to the weekend. The air was not humid, cumulus clouds gently passed through the sky, and a small breeze helped make the air a little more refreshing. We will see another nice day for Saturday, as the high begins to move offshore.
As we head into Sunday, we will be feeling the effects of a low pressure system now off the coast of South Carolina. The low will move northward, but slowly move out to the north and east before reaching Block Island. So, we will see more clouds than sun on Sunday, and the Cape and Islands may see some isolated showers during the morning and afternoon. The low will move off into the Atlantic by Sunday night, and we will return to fair weather on Monday.
As we head into the middle of next week, southwest winds will allow for more tropical air to move into Southern New England. This will increase our dewpoint temperatures, making the air very humid. Also, temperatures will increase into the upper 80’s to lower 90’s by Wednesday. A cold front is expected to make its way towards New England Tuesday night, bringing a new threat of showers and thunderstorms from Wednesday morning into early Friday morning. But, just like the previous seven weekends, we will begin the next weekend with dry weather and cooler temperatures.
