Metro Boston, North Shore and Metro West: We are riding a very nice streak of pleasant weather that continued on display over the weekend. With pleasant temperatures, bright sunshine, low humidity and light winds you could not have asked for nicer weather conditions than what we experienced this weekend. Understandably the beachgoers out there would have liked it a bit warmer at the shore but the ocean breeze kept temperatures from climbing out of the low 70s along the North Shore beaches Saturday and again on Sunday.

The high pressure system that kept the hot and sticky weather to our south will reinforce its presence again on Monday allowing for yet another bright, sunny and pleasant day. High temperatures very similar to the weekend with highs into the low 80s inland but mid 70s along the coast with a light ocean breeze. During the day on Monday the high will push offshore and will be centered east of Nova Scotia Tuesday. This will draw warmer and somewhat more humid air into the area Tuesday. Expect a few clouds Monday night and milder. Lows in the mid 50s to near 60 degrees. Then on Tuesday a mostly sunny to at times partly sunny day is in store. It will be a warmer day, especially along the coast, with highs in the low 80s. Winds south 5 to 15 mph.

Clouds increase Tuesday night ahead of a frontal boundary well to our west. The boundary will be associated with low pressure that will track across southern Quebec Wednesday. This will bring us our next chance for showers, especially Wednesday afternoon and evening. Lows on Tuesday night stay mild in the 60s with highs Wednesday near 80 degrees under mostly cloudy skies. Clouds persist Wednesday night, lows again in the 60s.

On Thursday a cold front will slowly cross the region. There is some suggestion the front hangs up along the coast, especially to the south of Boston and if this does happen then Thursday turns out mostly cloudy with a slight chance of a shower the first half of the day. Highs near 80.

High pressure returns for Friday and Saturday with another round of pleasant weather through next weekend. Temperatures in the mid 70s along the coast to 80 or so across the interior Friday through Sunday. Sunshine dominates the skies with some clouds at times.

Monday Beach Outlook: Sunshine and pleasant. Light ocean breeze around 10 mph. High temperatures low 70s north of Cape Ann to mid 70s south to Boston. UV Index high. Water temperatures hovering around 60 degrees. High tide mid morning with the low tide mid afternoon.

For you allergy sufferers the pollen count will stay in the moderate zone on Monday, climbing slightly Tuesday.

It remains to be seen if we reach 90 degrees here in Boston before June winds down. Our high for the month is 87 and it is very doubtful we see the mercury reach 90 this week. In June of 2013 we eclipsed 90 degrees 4 times and reached above 80 degrees 14 days total, including the 4 days over 90. It was a much warmer and humid month overall from what this June has presented so far and this week will do little to change that.
