Tuesday was a beautiful summers day as temperatures climbed into the low and mid 80s throughout metro Boston, the North Shore and metro west. A light sea breeze developed right along the shore and this cooled temperatures back into the 70s by late afternoon. Very few clouds were spotted as skies remained generally clear all day.
Wednesday is day two of this beautiful stretch of summer like weather as high pressure holds in place and warm air continues to overspread the region. Expect a similar day to that of Tuesday with plenty of sunshine, temperatures into the 80s and light winds. Someone may touch 90 degrees through the interior.
Cloudiness arrives during Thursday as an upper level disturbance and cold front approach. Ahead of the front expect a warm and humid day with temperatures once again well into the 80s. Temperatures may be a couple degrees lower from Wednesday due to more cloud cover. There is a risk for a late day shower or thunderstorm on Thursday and Thursday night ahead and along the cold front, which is expected to move through overnight and offshore Friday.
Leftover clouds and a few showers could track across the landscape early Friday, otherwise a partly cloudy, cooler and breezy day is on tap. The humidity will start to ease as well as a dry Canadian air mass overspreads the region during Friday and stays with us into the upcoming weekend.
The weekend, fair and cool with sunny mornings and partly cloudy afternoon skies on average. Temperatures will run below normal as highs struggle to reach 80 degrees.
