The Sunday morning weather map features a frontal boundary that extends from low pressure in the Great Lakes to Long Island. We continue to remain on the cool side of the front today with cloudy skies and periods of showers. The front is expected to push northward as a warm front and slide north of us Monday. Meanwhile, a cold front will approach during Monday and is currently forecast to makes its passage here late Monday night or early Tuesday. High pressure follows behind the front and brings pleasant weather mid to late week. Some of the shower activity may be locally moderate to heavy both this morning and again Monday night. Tropical Depression Karen will remain too far south to be a factor in our weather early this week.

Here is the outlook for the week ahead. Cloudy skies and showers persist through most of Sunday with high temperatures in the upper 50s to low 60s, coolest along the coast. Temperatures may actually fall back to the mid 50s on the coast. East to northeast winds 5 to 15 mph.

Tonight, with the warm front approaching and expected to be in the vicinity of northeast Massachusetts the clouds hang in and a few showers are probable, especially in the evening. Areas of fog develop as well. Lows will remain in the mid to upper 50s, so not much change from the daytime highs. Winds east to southeast 5 to 10 mph.

Monday, morning fog and mostly cloudy skies with a few breaks of sun possible. Chance of afternoon showers. Feeling a bit humid. Milder, highs in the low 70s. South winds 10 to 15 mph.

Monday night, showers are likely and mild. Humid. Lows in the upper 50s to low 60s.

Tuesday, showers linger in the morning followed by partial clearing later in the day. Turning less humid. Highs around 70.

Tuesday night through Thursday night: Fair skies with generally mostly sunny days. Highs in the 60s. Overnight lows in the 40s.

Friday: Increasing clouds. Highs in the 60s.
