A touch of Autumn was with us overnight as the cool air mass settled over the area and dropped temperatures into the 40s. The cool trend continues today with temperatures running below normal. Many of us remain in the 60s during the afternoon despite abundant sunshine.
High pressure will shift to our south early in the weekend and this will bring winds around to a southwest direction. With that in place we can expect moderating temperatures over the weekend, however another cold front will open the door for more cool air to overspread the region Sunday night and Monday.
The cold front will be in northern New England Saturday night and is expected to pass through the local area before midday Sunday. Clouds will be on the increase later Saturday night and there is a chance of a shower late night or early Sunday. As the front moves southeastward we should begin to see improving skies during the afternoon hours.
Expect temperatures to chill down again Sunday night through Monday night behind the cold front. High pressure will expand into the area to give us a dry and pleasant start to the work week with a cool, crisp and sunny Monday.
