Forecast discussion: Over the last several days, a strong high pressure system has brought dry weather to eastern Massachusetts. This high is moving offshore this evening, but it will continue to provide us with mostly sunny skies for Sunday.
For the last few days, the computer models have been showing a low pressure system developing north of Bermuda. The low has formed, and now the sixty-four thousand dollar question the last few days has been: will it affect our weather on Monday? The computer models insist we will not be directly hit with the low. However, we will see cloudy skies and the chance for some passing showers by the afternoon. Skies will begin to clear just after midnight Monday evening, before a new high over western Canada takes over the pattern on Tuesday.
As the high moves closer to the east coast, warmer air from the south will begin to move northward. We will see above normal temperatures during the daytime on Tuesday and Wednesday. Temperatures will begin to cool down as a weak cold front inches closer towards us on Friday. The next chance for some showers will be next Saturday, as a cold front approaches us from the west.
