Forecast discussion: A large dome of high pressure continues to remain over New England. Despite the high, we did see a few clouds mix with sunshine on Thursday afternoon over Boston. This was due to the east and southeast winds, along with some colder air in the upper levels of the atmosphere. The heating from the sun, along with moisture up in the middle levels of the atmosphere. Eventually, we will see more clouds this evening, as winds remain from the east, coming off the cooler ocean.
The high’s center will move a little closer to the east, so we should see more sunshine for the next few days. I continue to watch the models and see what they are doing with a developing low off the coast of South Carolina. At this time, all the computer models keep the low to our east. The American model now has the low closest to the mainland. We will see some clouds and a northeast breeze on Monday. The Cape and Islands may see some scattered showers, but I am still not confident in adding that to the forecast. We will return to mostly sunny skies with temperatures in the lower 70’s during the day after Tuesday.
