Forecast discussion: A couple of cold fronts are near Boston tonight, which will create a passing shower or two for the capital city into Sunday morning. The first cold front that passed through earlier on Saturday will be the one creating the precipitation. The second cold front will help bring colder air down from Canada, and keep it over New England for the next few days.
Actually, Monday will be the coldest day of the week. Despite sunny skies, I am only expecting highs to reach the lower 40’s.Temperatures will be below freezing on Sunday night. A Frost Advisory may be in effect for tomorrow night. Temperatures will be warming up by Tuesday, as an upper level ridge slowly moves its way out of the central U.S. towards the east coast. This will help bring warmer air from the south up into New England.
We will reach warmer temperatures by Wednesday, as highs will reach the upper 50’s to lower 60’s. By Thursday, we will have the warmest day of the week, with highs in the middle to upper 60’s. However, with the warm front, we will see showers and light rain begin to fall by the morning hours. It will continue into the evening, and part of Friday morning. The colder air behind the front will make its way in by early Friday morning, as lows fall back into the lower 40’s. High temperatures will return to the upper 40’s to lower 50’s for the following weekend.
Finally, just a remainder to my readers that tonight we “fall back” in time, so set your clocks back one hour at 2 a.m. Sunday morning.
