Forecast discussion: High pressure just moving over Cape Cod gave us cloudy skies to start Sunday morning, but eventually the sun burned them away. Boston had bright sunshine, but temperatures remained in the upper 30’s. As we move through tonight, we will see some high clouds move in, but this will help keep temperatures around 30 degrees.
As we head into tomorrow, we will start the day with some sunshine. However, the high’s center will move offshore, and we should see the cloud deck lower through the day. A cold front will be passing through on Tuesday, and it will bring showers and light to moderate rain. We may see up to an inch of rain. This could cause some minor street and river flooding, as the snow pack melts into the rivers. Also, areas that received heavy snowfall may see fog, due to warmer air hitting the colder surface.
A weak disturbance will pass through Wednesday night, so we might see a few flurries, or even a quick snow squall. Also, the cold front will help bring colder air from Canada back over the Northeast U.S. So, after Wednesday, our high temperatures will fall back to the upper 30’s to lower 40’s. We could see some quick snow showers Saturday morning, due to a quick moving disturbance. We should see the sun return next Sunday, but temperatures will remain below normal for this time of the year.
