Forecast discussion: A cold front came through early Tuesday afternoon in eastern Massachusetts, which helped create some stronger winds. Temperatures also began to fall, as some colder air from Canada will stay over the Northeast U.S. for the next few days.
After finding out from the National Weather Service that 2012 was the warmest year ever recorded, about half of the nation are experiencing colder than normal weather. This is due to the jet stream being further south than usual. However, this is actually a normal weather pattern. However, this will help our overnight temperatures fall into the middle teens. The jet stream will move a little further north by the weekend, allowing our temperatures to warm back to normal temperatures by early next week.
Also, there will be a lack of low pressure systems this week, as many of the Alberta Clipper systems will remain mostly dry. Despite seeing some mostly cloudy skies on Thursday night, any precipitation will remain well to our south.
