After a couple very nice weeks of weather, capped off by a spectacular weekend, we start the last week of August with plenty of clouds and a few showers. This trend will continue off and on into mid week before getting back into a drier air mass just in time for the Labor Day weekend.
A few light showers or sprinkles have been around early this morning as a weak disturbance moves across the area. Meanwhile, a warm front approaches from the west during today and should move across eastern Massachusetts overnight and offshore on Tuesday. The warm front will bring more humid conditions along with a chance for a few more showers later today and tonight. Overall it will be a mostly cloudy Monday with seasonal temperatures. Splashes of sun during the midday and early afternoon hours is possible.
Skies will vary from mostly cloudy to partly sunny on Tuesday as drier conditions temporarily preside over the area, before another impulse of unsettled weather arrives at night or Wednesday and possibly another weak low moving through early on Thursday. The idea is with these weak disturbances moving through the area we have more than our share of clouds and a few periods of showers, perhaps even an isolated thunderstorm as well.
It appears, based on computer models, that the heaviest precipitation will remain to our west and south during the early to mid week period.
By the end of the work week and leading into the holiday weekend, high pressure moves in along with a drier and seasonably mild air mass. It turns less humid Friday into Saturday.
