Boston weather: Can we expect a perfect weekend again?

Forecast discussion: We returned to seeing bright sunshine and low humidity around Boston on Friday. However, temperatures could have been a little warmer, if not for the northeast winds. The winds off the cooler ocean helped keep the temperatures seasonable. We will continue this trend through the weekend, although we will begin to see a little more heat and humidity by early next week.

So, the weekend will be quite comfortable, as we will have low humidity. However, as we move into the middle of next week, our dewpoint temperatures will make the air feel muggy and uncomfortable. Add this to the extremely warm temperatures I am forecasting, and the heat index will make it feel like the lower 90’s. A slow moving cold front coming down from Canada will bring the chance of isolated showers on Tuesday. As the front moves closer to the east coast, we will see scattered showers and thunderstorms for Wednesday. The front will become stalled over the region on Thursday, allowing for an increased risk at scattered showers and thunderstorms.

By Thursday evening, the blocking pattern to our east will end, and the front will begin to move offshore. There may be a few isolated showers next Friday morning, but it looks like the Fourth of July will see seasonable temperatures and dry weather.
