Metro Boston, North Shore and Metro West: High pressure will be in control through the weekend as we are in for a near perfect weekend of weather while scattered showers and storms remain well to our south across the mid-Atlantic. The final days of June will stay dry with low humidity and very comfortable conditions through the weekend. The high moves offshore Sunday night and Monday and this will draw warm and more humid conditions across the region early next week.

It was a sensational Friday with low humidity back in the fold and sunny skies throughout the day in the Boston area and North Shore. Expect more of the same today. Temperatures this Saturday morning start out in the low and mid 50s and the mercury will climb into the low to mid 80s across the interior but with a sea breeze developing along the coast look for temperatures to stay in the mid 70s on the beaches. Another day of sunshine is in store with light winds.

Saturday night will be mainly clear and comfortable with lows dipping to the mid 50s to near 60 degrees across the landscape. Winds stay light from the southwest.

Expect a repeat performance on Sunday with plenty of sunshine. Temperatures will climb into the 80s with a south to southwest wind at 5 to 15 mph. There is a chance of a southeast breeze along the shore which will keep temperatures a bit cooler along the coast. Humidity stays low so overall it will be another comfortable day. Other than a few clouds Sunday night the skies remain fair and temperatures hover near 60 degrees overnight.

The high pressure system stays offshore Monday with a vigorous low pressure system moving across southwest Ontario and then into Hudson’s Bay Monday and Tuesday. More humid air will begin to draw across the area on southwest winds. High temperatures both days well into the 80s and with the higher humidity it will be somewhat uncomfortable. Skies generally partly cloudy through Tuesday night. Lows stay in the mid to upper 60s Monday night, near 70 Tuesday night.

A cold front approaches Wednesday and this will bring a chance for showers and thunderstorms into Wednesday night. Highs in the 80s, lows again around 70.

North Shore weekend beach outlook:

Saturday: Sunny and pleasant. High temperatures around 75 degrees. Light east to southeast winds.

Sunday: Sunshine and warmer. Highs near 80. Southwest winds 5 to 15 mph, possibly becoming southeast in the afternoon.

High tides in the early afternoon. Water temperatures around 63 degrees. The UV Index will be high.
