On last night's episode of "Boston's Finest," Terrique Chambers is on the night shift of the Gang Unit. He feels that his prime concern is returning home each night, because he could not imagine leaving his wife alone to raise their two boys. He is a great role model for his two boys, and his family is his first love. His son Jaylen has autism, and his life is a continuation of adjustments, both at home and at work. Kayden is so patient with his brother, that he teaches Terrique to be more patient too. He and his wife are contemplating having a third child, but his job shows people at their worst, and it makes him wonder if having another child is the right thing.
Rich Medina and Tim Stanton are opening a case involving a shooting on the South End. As they watch the film of the shooter’s entry and exit in a building where he fired two shots, they must identify him and get him off the street immediately.
The Gang Unit is preparing for the Caribbean festival, that has had its share of gun violence in the past. The team is preparing for a sweep of outstanding warrants before the festival starts. Michael Bell is the prime target of the roundup. As the teams enter the house where the suspect is, they find him immediately and take him in.
Now due to excellent police work, the surveillance shots of the shooter from the other night show that he has a neck tattoo of a “W,” which symbolizes the Wainwright gang. When photos of the suspect are shown to some people, they get the initials “L J.” Now they will be looking for this person and try to identify his real name.
As Terrique and Greg McCormick are on duty when they get the call that a green Honda Accord fired about eight shots. They are in pursuit and have one suspect in custody. The other has escaped, but they are in hot pursuit when they see him running and nab him.
When the detectives are scanning the database, they find John Lewis and positively identify him. Priority one is to find him before the Caribbean festival. Winston DeLeon and Joe Marrero are on the hunt. They are looking for the suspect and check out his obvious haunts. In the meantime, they apprehend two men on a motor scooter, that was stolen.
Looking for John Lewis, they find his ex-girlfriend, who told them she spoke to him yesterday. She would not show the officers her phone and when he called her. Now they feel that she will call him and warn him and hinder the manhunt even further.
When Terrique and Greg are patrolling the streets, they spot people running, but they were afraid of the slow-moving car and were running for their lives. When the police stop and speak with them, they found out that a few of them are joining the armed forces. They were happy to know that these kids will have a future, because it is not with the gangs.
Terrique and his wife Scherlaine organized a function for Autism Speaks and had the participation of all their colleagues.
They got a tip that John Lewis was located at an address. They stakeout his whereabouts and he gets into a car. They follow and apprehend him as he is getting out of the car and take his gun.
The sweep took a lot of criminals off the street, but the Caribbean festival starts today; so several squads are sent off with the warning to be on the lookout for any signs of trouble. Manny Canuto spots a familiar face in the crowd and apprehends a suspect with a gun warrant. Thanks to the diligence of the Boston Police Department, the Caribbean festival was a peaceful one.
