Boston Red Sox batting order revelations for 2014 have come in from CBS. Many players in the 2014 Red Sox lineup return from the World Series winning team and it could mean a lot of runs again. According to a report from CBS on Monday (Feb. 24), Shane Victorino will take over as the primary leadoff hitter. This comes after the exit of Jacoby Ellsbury in free agency to the New York Yankees.

All-Star second baseman will slide into the third slot and World Series MVP David Ortiz will hit cleanup for the team again. With Stephen Drew also leaving as a free agent, Xander Bogaerts will get a chance to become the full-time shortstop. He is slated to hit sixth in the lineup, but it's possible that he could be shifted down depending on how he does in Spring Training. He could be followed by newly acquired catcher A.J. Pierzynski in the seven hole.

The 2014 Boston Red Sox batting order is an interesting one, especially because it is unclear where third baseman Will Middlebrooks will end up. CBS has him hitting eighth, but that may be based on the struggles he had at the end of last season. If he can find that power swing again, fans should not be surprised if he pops up to the No. 6 spot in the lineup. As for the players expected to come off the bench, they could include catcher David Ross, first baseman Mike Carp, outfielder Jonny Gomes, and infielder Jonathan Herrera. Outfielder Grady Sizemore is also at Spring Training trying to earn himself a spot on the roster.

Projected 2014 Red Sox Lineup:

1. Shane Victorino, RF
2. Daniel Nava, LF
3. Dustin Pedroia, 2B
4. David Ortiz, DH
5. Mike Napoli, 1B
6. Xander Bogaerts, SS
7. A.J. Pierzynski, C
8. Will Middlebrooks, 3B
9. Jackie Bradley, CF
