While the Boston Pops thrill audiences with ‘A Boston Pops Christmas – Live from Symphony Hall,’ throughout the holiday season, 2014 is already looking bright with the recent announcement of the Boston Pops Spring season! Tickets went on sale December 5, so now is the time to get a head start for an incredible new year!

Led by Keith Lockhart, the Boston Pops offers a dynamic season with stellar talent from the latest Broadway and hit television shows, enliven film classics onstage, light up Symphony Hall with circus performers, and celebrate a milestone baseball anniversary!
Broadway and ‘Seinfeld’ star Jason Alexander made such an impressive mark on ‘Presidents at Pops’ last year, he is opening the season on Wednesday, May 7! He brings his charismatic humor and will delight audiences with Broadway hits from ‘The Music Man,’ ‘Pippin,’ and ‘Merrily We Roll Along’ to name a few!
‘The Very Best of the Boston Pops,’ presented on Thursday, May 8, Friday, May 9, and Tuesday, May 27, will feature a suburb collection of the Boston Pops’ best works. The list will include classics from Leonard Bernstein, Duke Ellington, and Aaron Copland as well as Queen’s ‘Bohemian Rhapsody,’ Abba’s ‘Dancing Queen,’ and prominent film scores from John Williams. Audiences will enjoy a few surprise numbers as well!
Like last year’s stunning production of West Side Story presented with live music by the Boston Pops, this year the Boston Pops take on the enchanting ‘Wizard of Oz' with ‘Oz with Orchestra’ on Saturday, May 10 and Sunday, May 11. In honor of their 75th recent anniversary, the Boston Pops will unleash classic numbers such as ‘Over the Rainbow,’ ‘Off to See the Wizard,’ ‘Follow the Yellow Brick Road’ live.
Acclaimed guitarist Warren Hayes, who awed audiences at Tanglewood with his tribute to legendary guitarist Jerry Garcia, will perform with the Boston Pops on Tuesday May 13 and Wednesday, May 14! ‘Jerry Garcia Celebration’ will feature Jerry's most popular Grateful Dead songs such as ‘Dark Star,’ ‘Morning Dew,’ and ‘Bird Song.’
Symphony Hall will be transformed into a circus arena equipped with dancers, jugglers, contortionists, strongmen, aerial flyers, and acrobats as the Boston Pops present ‘Cirque de la Symphonie’ on Friday, May 16 and Saturday, May 17. It will be an evening of astronomical and dazzling feats as the Boston Pops team up with these captivating performers!
The Tony award-winning lead star of the Tony award-winning Best Musical of the Year, ‘Kinky Boots,’ Billy Porter makes his Boston Pops debut on Tuesday, May 20 and Wednesday, May 21! A recording artist, songwriter, and director, Billy Porter will present ‘At the Corner of Broadway and Soul,’ an amazing evening of gospel, R&B, and Broadway hits.
